At the SARM convention, it was mentioned that some R.M.'s are using Road Usage Agreements.  If anyone has a copy of a road usage agreement, could they fax it to me at 483-2598 or email it to: [email protected].  I would also like to share this with neighboring municipalities.

We are having some complaints regarding farmers spraying their fields that are close to residential areas.  Residents are concerned about their kids breathing in the spray as well as some trees have been affected.  Just wondering how other communities handle this.  We are also looking for any bylaws relating to having cattle within town limits.

You can contact me at 306-843-2692 or [email protected]

Thanks
Lana

We are in the development stages of a landfill bylaw...if we were to begin collecting a 'landfill levy' used to keep our landfill viable with our utility billing, would we have to obtain approval from the Municipal Board again?

Hi Lana!  MCDP has put together a wealth of information on bylaw enforcement. If you visit the website:  www.municipalcapacity.ca and click on resource material - bylaw enforcement, you will find information on job descriptions, questionnaires and even worksheets.  To start off, you might find it helpful to contact your neighboring municipalities and forward them the questionnaire and have them return it to you.  This way you are able to see what is available in the area and who is interested.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of us!!  Dana

We are looking into perhaps hiring a bylaw enforcement officer and would like to talk to some communities who currently use one.  If you could please contact me if your municipality currently or has in the past employed a bylaw enforcement officer.  Thanks - Lana, Town of Wilkie
